Daniel Vettori picks his dream team, Virat, Dravid, Sachin are the Indian on the list -- WATCH

New Zealand has already taken a 1-0 lead after beating India by 6 wickets at Wankhede

Former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has picked his dream team and has chosen the current Indian captain Virat Kohli to lead the squad. Virat Kohli is currently leading the Indian cricket team that is hosting New Zealand at home. India has already lost the 1st One Day International by 6 wickets and will hope to bounce back at Pune. Vettori has picked three Indian stars in his XI that comprises of big names. The former Kiwi player revealed his dream cricket team in a video posted on Lord’s Cricket Ground’s Facebook account. Another player who is in his team is the South African great AB De Villiers.

Vettori’s dream team includes Ricky Ponting who led Australia to two World Cup victories. Also, surprisingly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is rated as India’s best-limited overs cricketer, does not feature in the list.

It is great to see Sachin Tendulkar on the list. Vettori has played a lot of international cricket against Sachin Tendulkar and at times got the better of the little master. There is another striking surprise because he revealed that Rahul Dravid and Ricky Ponting would open the batting and not Sachin Tendulkar, arguably one of the best openers, is not considered for that spot. Adam Gilchrist is also there who could have been the opener as he has done it successfully for Australia in the past.

Daniel Vettori’s dream team: Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Adam Gilchrist (WK), Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Glenn McGrath, Sir Richard Hadlee and Jacques Kallis (12th man).

Daniel Vettori is currently in India as a part of the broadcast team that is covering the India vs New Zealand series.
