Here's why Bangladesh can defeat India in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Semi-final

No, we are not saying this. But Bangladeshis are hoping for a miracle when their team will take on India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final at the Edgbaston

Today is a big day for Bangladesh cricket team fans. This is for the first time in their history that Bangladesh have managed to make it through to the last four of an ICC tournament. The Bangladeshis must be hoping for a miracle when their team will take on India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium in Birmingham on June 15.

Commenting on this battle, former Bangladeshi skipper Aminul Islam said if Bangladesh play to a plan, they can defeat defending champions India.

“Bangladesh are nothing less compared to India. Rather, we have experienced players like Masharafe (Mortaza), Shakib (Al Hasan), Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim (Iqbal),” Islam told leading daily ‘Prothom Alo’.

“I think if Bangladesh can play in a planned manner, there is no reason to lose to India,” Islam, who scored 145 runs in Bangladesh’s inaugural Test against India in 2000, said.

“Once our batting line-up does well, we can get a big score. If Bangladesh can use that effectively, victory is certain,” he said.

The former skipper hoped that all-rounder Shakib would deliver in this big match. “You should keep one thing in mind that Shakib is a big-match player,” he emphasised.

While on the other hand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has said that thay consider Bangladesh a “very dangerous” side.

“It’s no surprise that they are doing really well and have improved their cricket. Credit to their set-up and the kind of players who are taking more responsibility. They are a very dangerous side on their day. No one can take their opposition for granted and Bangladesh have taken huge strides,” Kohli said.
