Virat Kohli scored 81 not out against Pakistan to help India win. Today, India is playing Sri Lanka in a must-win for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field first. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan continued their good run of form, India lost its first wicket with the score on 138. Virat Kohli walked out to bat as expected but things did not turn out the way he would have expected or the fans in India, also all the Viratians. Virat Kohli lost his wicket to an irresponsible shot of Nuwan Pradeep. Nobody, let alone Virat Kohli is expected to get out without scoring a run, it may not affect India’s chances in the match but him out of form could really dent India’s hopes of defending its title.
Virat Kohli’s duck in ODI cricket before today came in England at Cardiff. He played 37 innings between that duck and today’s duck. Whoa, that is a number.

If that was surprising there is somebody in the same league as Kohli who got out for a duck as well. In the match, Pakistan versus South Africa, AB de Villiers, was also out but he was out for a golden duck, which was very strange as he is a very consistent run-getter across formats, it was the first time he got out for a golden duck, thankfully Kohli had played five balls before getting dismissed.
