ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Watch: Steve Smith press conference: Will not change winning combinations

ICC Champions Trophy: Steve Smith said, "We will not look to change a winning combination, once we have a look at the pitch tomorrow will we take a final call

The biggest cricketing extravaganza of the year gets underway today when hosts England lock-horns with Bangladesh, but the big clash is going to take place tomorrow when traditional rivals New Zealand go up against Australia in what promises to be a riveting clash. Steve Smith, who has been in phenomenal form and will be leading the Australian unit has come out and given a press conference where he spoke on a lot of factors including team combinations.

About the team combination he said, “We will not look to change a winning combination, once we have a look at the pitch tomorrow will we take a final call on the first eleven. We are not certain of going in with four quick’s but if conditions permit we will not hesitate in playing four as all of them are in good form. We will not take any sides lightly as all of them have the capability to sting back.”

The press conference took place in Birmingham where the trans-tasmanian battle takes place tomorrow.

Speaking of the challenge ahead he said, “It is going to be challenging but that is what we all play for. In the nets the ball tends to come a bit faster and we will only be able to see tomorrow if all the practice pays dividends.”

The match starts at 15:00 IST and you can watch it live on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 3. You can also live stream it on Hotstar.
