India vs Pakistan, ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Sachin Tendulkar is in the house, rooting for Virat Kohli, team India [Photo]

IND v PAK, India got off to a sedate start, then they stepped it up both the openers getting to 50's before Shikhar Dhawan was finally dismissed

Sachin Tendulkar, is the former Indian great batsman also arguably someone who epitomises batsmanship. India is taking on Pakistan in a high-octane encounter at Birmingham. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first, which was strange as the pitch was a batsman’s paradise. India got off to a sedate start, then they stepped it up both the openers getting to 50’s before Shikhar Dhawan was finally dismissed. Virat Kohli finally joined in Rohit Sharma to get the ship on track. India is powering towards a total of 300 plus. There have already been two interruptions of play due to passing showers.

But what caught the attention at the iconic balcony at Edgbaston, the god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar was present and he was rooting for the men in blue. He is someone who has scored most runs in India-Pakistan encounters and that record still stands. So, that means he knows a thing or two about the arch rivals from across the border. He was there in 2003 and was the man of the match in 2011 World Cup, when India went on to lift the ultimate crown. Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly are all there as a part of the commentary team which also comprises of VVS Laxman and Brett Lee.

So, today is a special day as India take on Pakistan and the game is well-poised for a final onslaught by India. It will be tough for Pakistan as India have a good bowling unit, which, more importantly, is in red-hot form.
