Sri Lankan cricketer Chamara Silva took playing unorthodox shots to a whole new level while trying to hit big by going behind the wickets

Sri Lankan cricketer Chamara Silva’s video of getting bowled in a domestic match while trying to hit the ball from behind the stumps has gone viral on the internet. In a match between MAS Unichela and Teejay Lanka at P Sara Oval in Colombo, Silva played an outrageous shot which will make every cricket fan go LOL.

In the video, the 37-year-old tried to improvise and play an aggressive shot. At first, it seemed he was going for a scoop but he went way behind the stumps and messed it up. The bowler hit the stumps and there was no way Silva could hit that delivery. Chamara Silva has since become the laughing stock of cricket in Sri Lanka and his shot is considered as one of the most bizarre shots in the history of the game.

The Sri Lankan batsman got banned from playing cricket for two years earlier this year while playing for Panadura in a Tier-B First-Class match. However, he was allowed to play domestic cricket by Sri Lankan cricket according to Indian Express.

Chamara Silva has represented his country in 11 Tests, 75 ODIs and 16 T20Is. His international cricket career spanned over a decade. He was known for his shots square of the wicket on both sides of the ground, which also later became his weakness.
