Ravindra Jadeja is in exceptional form as he took 9 wickets in Ranchi Test which includes a five-wicket haul in first innings

Ravindra Jadeja is on another planet now, at first he became the joint no.1 ICC Test bowler sharing the feat with Ravichandran Ashwin. Now, he has beaten Ashwin in the game of thrones and become the no.1 ICC Test bowler. Jadeja has been in splendid form, getting the better of Australian bowlers in almost every innings. He took 9 wickets in the Ranchi Test which included a five-wicket haul in the first innings which set the tone of the game.

Jadeja has 899 rating points after the Ranchi Test performance whereas Ashwin has 862 rating points. The difference between the too has been elongated seeing the recent performances of Jadeja. The left-arm off spinner did really well for India in the Ranchi Test. He helped India get back into the game in the first innings claiming 5 wickets and enforcing one Dhoni-style runout which resulted in Australia getting bundled out for 451.

He showed his valour with the bat as well scoring a quickfire half-century on Day 4 and taking India to 603-9 before Kohli declared, giving the hosts a 152-run lead. He just did not stop there as he came into bowl as well and took 2 wickets in the last session including David Warner and that of nightwatchman Nathan Lyon’s.

He got the crucial wicket of Steven Smith as well in the first session of Day 5 as well. He almost bowled the ball of the century getting rid of Smith with a ball that spun from outside leg stump to uprooting the off stump leaving the Australian skipper bamboozled.

Though Australian batsmen did well to save the match but Jadeja showed a glimmer of hope by taking two more wickets. He sent first inning centurion Glenn Maxwell and set batsmen Shaun Marsh.
