Arjun Tendulkar helps Team India prepare for Trent Boult, surprises Shikhar Dhawan with a bouncer — Watch Video

Arjun Tendulkar was seen bowling to Indian batsmen during the practice session ahead of India vs New Zealand 1st ODI at Wankhede

Arjun Tendulkar has always been under the limelight whenever he hits the practice nets. The son of the legendary batsman was seen bowling in the nets ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand at the Wankhede stadium. Arjun is helping Indian batsmen prepare for Kiwi left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult who has troubled them before. Left-arm bowlers have created a few problems for Indian batsmen of late. They struggled against Australia’s Jason Behrendorff in the T20I series and Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and before that.

Their inability to tackle left-arm seamers is no secret to anyone. Kane Williamson-led side will be trying to get the better of Indian batsmen with Boult and Corey Anderson. Rohit Sharma seems to struggle against the inswinger from the left-arm fast bowler and tends to get out leg before wicket.

BCCI posted a video of Indian batsmen sweating it out in the nets. Arjun bowled a well-directed bouncer to Shikhar Dhawan. Indian opener was surprised was the pace on the ball. Dhawan tried to pull the ball square of the wicket but ended up edging it behind the wicket.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and other batsmen too struggle when the left-arm bowler bowls in the area of uncertainty. They are not able to assess whether to go forward and attack or to go on the back foot and work the ball away. In the process, they tend to lose wickets often which sometimes even led to a batting collapse.

Arjun can bowl fast and even English wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow would agree with that. The 18-year-old struck him hard with a toe-crushing yorker in the Lord’s nets. He was also helping Indian women cricket team during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 when they reached the finals of the tournament.
