Another feather: Sachin Tendulkar awarded Asian Awards Fellowship

Sachin Tendulkar: The Little Master was awarded the “Lebara People’s Choice” award at the inaugural Asian Awards back in 2010

Sachin Tendulkar is considered the epitome of batsmanship even after he has retired. He has been involved in a lot of activities, ever-since he called it a day. He has also adopted villages in the south where he looks after the people and their welfare there. Tendulkar, being the shy person he is has brought glory to the country many times. He has ruled the hearts in a cricket-crazy nation. This is not the first time that Sachin Tendulkar has received any Asian Awards. The Little Master was awarded the “Lebara People’s Choice” award at the inaugural Asian Awards back in 2010. Sachin Tendulkar has also been a World Cup winner, India lifted the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. He lifted the trophy in his hometown, Mumbai.

Regarded as one of the greatest batsman of all time, Sachin Tendulkar played the game at the highest level for 24 years. He has also scored 100 centuries in international cricket. He also has most number of centuries in both formats. He is also the first cricketer to score a double-hundred in limited overs. The former cricketer has become only the fourth person ever to receive The Fellowship Award since the inception of these awards seven years ago.

The famous names who won this coveted honour in the past are late Ravi Shankar, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jackie Chan for the award. The last recipient, Jackie Chan received it in 2014.
