Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad failed to clear the dope test and has been dropped from the Pakistan side for upcoming Scotland tour. Shehzad was set to replace an injured Babar Azam for the tour after a reasonably good performance in the domestic circuit playing for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The 26-year-old was the highest run-getter of the tournament with 372 runs at a staggering average of 74.40 including 3 half-centuries and a century.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi broke the news on his Twitter account,
A player has reportedly tested positive for a prohibited substance. But under ICC rules PCB cannot name the player or chargesheet him until the chemical report is CONFIRMED by the Anti-Dope Agency of the government. We should have an answer in a day or two.

Whereas Pakistani journalist Zainab Abbas tweeted that Shehzad has been allegedly tested positive for Marijuana –

In 2016, Shehzad and wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal were under the scanner when former Pakistan coach Waqar Younis urged to drop them from the squad. Younis felt that they need to spend time in the domestic circuit and then earn their place in the squad.
