Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi’s tweet on Kashmir issue urging United Nations’ (UN) intervention received a good amount of backlash from cricketers. After Gautam Gambhir’s hard-hitting tweet, others from the cricket fraternity including Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Kaif, Kapil Dev and Suresh Raina reacted to Afridi’s statement as well. Despite the adverse response, Afridi has decided to stand by his statement and even went on to say that he will never play in Indian Premier League (IPL), even if they asked him to.

Afridi played for Karachi Kings in PSL 2018 who reached the second eliminator but could not qualify for the final. The all-rounder could only score 47 runs from 6 innings in PSL 2018 but played impressively with the ball, taking 12 wickets. However, it is high time that Afridi realises that he is not IPL material.
