Tabraiz Shamsi Turned Magician On-Field After ICC Banned His Mask Celebration & We Can't Stop Loling!

Tabraiz Shamsi gives footballers a run for their money with his unique celebrations

Tabraiz Shamsi is one cricketer who loves to celebrate. Almost as much as bowling perhaps. Such was the impact of his “celebrations”  that International Cricket Council (ICC) took notice of it and banned his ‘masked celebration’.  This special brand of celebration has him putting on a mask covering half of his face right after taking a wicket. But that didn’t bring down the South African’s spirits, he came up with another celebration on December 12.

During Manzsi Super League (MSL) 2018 clash between Paarl Rocks and Nelson Mandela, Shamsi picked up the wicket of English batsman Ben Duckett trapping him in front of the stumps. The 28-year-old then pulled out a piece of cloth and turned it into a stick. The magician celebration was lauded by the crowd as he waved the stick.

Surprisingly, these are not the only celebrations he has in his bag. During Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, the Chinaman did truck driver celebration and involved Kohli in too. During Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2018, he tried shoe-phone celebration as well making him an entertainer, popular among the crowd.

His performances, meanwhile, continue to impress. He bowled an economical spell of 4 overs against Nelson Mandela giving just 15 runs and picking up a wicket in death overs restricting them to a below par total of 129.

He is also in the contention to get picked in South Africa’s squad for the upcoming World Cup 2019. Do you think it will be fair if ICC gives him a few demerit points for his celebrations then?
