5 instances which prove that Pakistani cricketers are the funniest on the field | Watch Videos

Pakistan cricketers have always been entertainers on the cricket field whether they do it intentionally or unintentionally

If you were looking for an article containing Pakistani cricketers fumbling on their English, this post is not for you. Rather than criticising Pakistan cricketers’ verbal skills, we aim to bring up the funny side of Pakistan cricketers on the field.

Here are a few videos which you cannot watch just once-

The one with Umar Akmal’s unnatural flick!

The wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal, who was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 squad, decided to stay back and explore England & Wales. Akmal tried to earn brownie points by playing with women cricketers at Norway in an exhibition match but little did he know what destiny had in store for him.

Akmal made a fool of himself by taking Isma Ahmed lightly and attempted to flick the harmless ball away. Akmal ended up flicking the ball at his stumps and got out in a hilarious fashion.

The one with Ahmed Shehzad’s celebration fails

Ahmed Shehzad is often compared to Indian skipper Virat Kohli but this video compilation will prove that the comparison was unnecessary as the players are nothing alike. In the clip, Shehzad tries to celebrate a wicket by giving a high-five to his teammate while jumping in the air but ends up falling on the ground. His fall made players laugh in the dugout as well.

The latter part of the video shows Shehzad’s funny celebration after taking a wicket which even made the ‘Universe Boss’ laugh hard.

The one with Javed Miandad’s spot-jumping skills

It was 1992 when Javed Miandad was batting and India’s wicketkeeper Kiran More was trying to sledge the Pakistani batsman. Sachin Tendulkar came to bowl but had to pull out of the delivery because of disturbance from More. For a change, before taking any action, Miandad complained to the on-field Umpire David Shepherd who asked them to get on with the match’s proceedings. The two exchanged a few words between themselves.

Miandad pushes the ball towards mid off and wanted to take a run but was sent back. Miandad was well inside the crease but More dislodged the bails anyways. Miffed with More’s constant sledging, Miandad resorted to what has been one of the most-watched videos of cricketers.

The one with Kamran Akmal’s dropping-spree

Kamran Akmal was booked under match-fixing but before that let’s take a look at the catches he dropped. Danish Kaneria must have had a serious chat after Akmal dropped three catches off his bowling. Even Michael Hussey could not believe that he got three-time lucky after regular catches were put down.

He dropped a catch down the leg side as well off Mohammad Sami’s ball. To top it all he did not take off the bails during a chance for a runout where Shane Watson dived towards the striker’s end.

The one with Inzamam-ul-Haq’s epic fall

Inzamam-ul-Haq  tried to paddle sweep the ball from Monty Panesar at Leeds back in 2005-06 season. But, Inzamam found a new way to get out apart from the usual runouts. This time around he fell on the wickets in a bizarre fashion as English cricketers celebrated and laughed. Inzamam has got out in funny ways in the past but this one literally tops the list.

Here are a few bonus videos that did not make the list.

P.S. These videos do not take away the fact that Pakistan cricket has improved at a drastic rate in the previous few years, resulting in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 triumph over India.
