She took the score to a decent total of 164 for 4. However, her innings went in vain as India chased down the target, thanks to Mithali Raj’s 11th half-century. She was supported by opener Smriti Mandhana followed by 17-year-old debutante Jemimah Rodrigues. Veda Krishnamurthy too took off the pressure off her guiding India to an easy 7-wicket victory in the first T20I.
Tryon is expected to produce a few similar innings in the ongoing five-match T20I series. Even her career strike rate is the highest, 141.66 from 35 matches.
