Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the squad for the England tour (limited overs). The team for the three-match T20I series as well as the three-match ODI series is the same. Siddarth Kaul is set to make his T20I, ODI debut after splendid performances in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Kaul has been consistent for a while now.
Washington Sundar got rewarded for his performance in Nidahas Trophy 2018. The ‘Man of the Series’ of the tri-nation T20I series got a chance in both the squads as well. However, Manish Pandey, who has not been able to justify his Rs 11 crore fee for SRH, has been selected in the side. Pandey is in the T20I squad ahead of the in-form Shreyas Iyer, Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant.
Iyer-Rayudu made it into the ODI squad against England, replacing Raina-Pandey. Dinesh Karthik too remains has a permanent place in both the squads. Umesh Yadav has proved to be lethal while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in this season.
