Arjun Tendulkar bamboozled Railways' batting line-up, returns with figure of 4/36

Arjun's 4-wicket haul in the second innings proved to be no less than a nightmare for the Railways batsmen. In just 37 overs, the Railways U-19 were reduced to 124 for 7

Arjun Tendulkar — the son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar — is stealing all the limelight with his pace attack in the ongoing Cooch Bihar Under-19 inter-state cricket tournament between Mumbai and Indian Railways. The game commenced at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana where Arjun’s 4-wicket haul in the second innings proved to be no less than a nightmare for the Railways batsmen. In just 37 overs, the Railways U-19 were reduced to 124 for 7 after following on in the first innings.

Earlier in the match, Mumbai U-19 batsmen troubled the Railway bowlers a lot. With Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double ton (218) and Sidak Singh going beyond half-century (63), the hosts posted a massive 389 on the first day of the play. On the other hand, the Railways team were bundled up within 150 runs and had to follow on. Abhimanyu Vashishtha took 8 wickets off 30 runs and pushed the visitors on backfoot. Later, Arjun’s spell created another dent, giving Mumbai the entire control of the game.

The Railway U-19 are still 115 runs behind to make Mumbai bat again.

Here are the match details so far:

Mumbai U-19, 1st innings- 389 all out, 93 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 218, Sidak Singh 63; R.A. Khan 4/71)

Railways U-19, 2nd innings- 124/7, 37 overs (V.P. Lande 34, Sanket P. 38; Arjun Tendulkar 4/36).

This is not the first time that Junior Tendulkar became the talk of the town for his bowling skills. He started practising pace bowling at the nets with his father. He was even spotted at the Lord’s and bowled to English batsmen including Jonny Bairstow. Recently, he was spotted practising with the Men in Blue ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
