'Apne Hi Ghar Me Kya Inaugurate Karega' MSD Humbly Refuses To Unveil the 'Dhoni Pavillion'

Maybe that's the reason why MS Dhoni has respect of millions of fans across the globe

MS Dhoni defines class. The most recent testimony to this is his refusal to inaugurate the ‘MS Dhoni Pavilion’ at Jharkhand Cricket Association Stadium, Ranchi. Last year, we witnessed Virender Sehwag inaugurating a stand named after him at Feroz Shah Kotla. Similarly, there is a Sunil Gavaskar at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and many more.

India are scheduled to play Australia in 3rd ODI at the JSCA Stadium on March 8. The JSCA secretary, Debashis Chakraborty asked Dhoni to inaugurate the stand before the ODI clash. Chakraborty told indianexpress.com,

“During our last AGM on August 18, 2017, it was proposed that the South Pavilion will be named after MS Dhoni. Then people sitting in front of the dressing room can view MS Dhoni pavilion. The north stand is named after Amitabh Chaudhary,”

But Chakraborty got a rather humble reply from the 37-year-old,

We were deliberating whether to open it on 8th March. But when I asked MSD, he said: “Dada mein toh isika hissa hu. Ghar ka ladka apne hi ghar mein kya inaugurate karega? (I am a part of this ground. How can a person inaugurate something in his own home?)”
