Following BCCI, PCB Hikes Match Fees Of Pakistan Cricketers

PCB has announced 25 per cent to 30 per cent increase in the monthly remuneration for each of its categories

Months after Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) raised remuneration of the Indian players, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now announced the new central contracts for the 2018-19 season.

According to geo.tv, a total of thirty-three players, comprising five categories, have been included in the central contract.

In its contract, PCB has announced 25 per cent to 30 per cent increase in the monthly remuneration for each of its categories and has also increased its players’ match fees by 20 per cent across all categories.

According to the latest contracts, players in ‘Category A’ will be paid more than Rs 0.8 million per month while the salaries of Category B cricketers are nearly Rs0.5 million. Rs0.35 will be the monthly salary of Category C players.

The cricket board will pay a monthly salary of Rs0.2 million to Category D players while players under Category E will be paid Rs0.1 million per month.

Rising star Babar Azam has been included in Category A while all-rounder player Mohammad Hafeez has been demoted to Category B.

Fakhar Zaman, who recently became the first Pakistani batsman to score a double ton in an ODI cricket has been awarded ‘Category B’. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan was also placed in B category by the PCB.
