Rajkummar Rao’s Trapped which released in theatres last Friday has been garnering lauds. Everything from Rajkummar’s acting to the direction, from camera work to editing, Trapped became a film no one could stop talking about. And now a deleted a scene from the film has made its way on the Internet. This deleted scene is further proof that no one other than Rajkummar Rao could have pulled off this role.
In this Vikramaditya Motwane directorial, Rajkummar essayed the role of Shaurya, who gets locked inside his own apartment. The way Shaurya struggled to survive formed the crux of the story. Going deeper into the content of the film, it is also a take on the urban culture where people rarely pay heed to other’s lives. This film managed to bare the truth behind the high rise buildings and the people ‘trapped’ in it.
In this particular deleted scene of the film, Rajkummar can be seen in a conversation with a rat. The actor can be seen eating a pigeon in the video. The rat being the only companion of Shaurya in the apartment, he can be seen joking with him. Shaurya said the similarity between rat and man is that both run after holes.
This ‘hole’ reference was the reason Central Board Of Film Certification thought it was not fit for viewership and asked the makers to delete it. Well, we think at this point many would have stopped being surprised by CBFC’s decisions.
Trapped collected Rs 1.44 crore in three days. The numbers are decent taking into account the fact that Trapped released in only 300 screens. To ace the character and ordeal of Shaurya, Rajkummar went through a rigorous diet. Talking about his diet, Rajkummar had said that he survived on carrots and coffee for nearly 20 days. Commitment, you see.
