Saif Ali Khan earned widespread critical acclaim when he played baddie Langda Tyagi in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara 11 years ago. Soon, he will be seen on the silver screen again. According to reports, Bhardwaj is planning a spin-off of the second instalment of his Shakespearean trilogy. Saif is believed to have given his nod for the film which is currently being written by Bhardwaj, Abhishek Chaubey and Robin Bhatt.
“Omkara had turned out to be a surprise success, impressing both the viewers and critics. Saif received accolades for his performance and no one could have pulled off such a performance as he did. The script is currently being written,” sources close to the filmmaker’s production house told DNA.
Starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi and Saif Ali Khan, Omkara was a cinematic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Othello. It won three National Awards and clinched 9 Filmfare Awards.
