Hundreds of students in Warangal, Telangana have to cross a river on foot to reach their college. The video of students crossing the path inundated by gushing floodwaters has since gone viral on social media. The bridge collapsed eight months ago and was reportedly used by 2,000 people daily. The students say authorities haven’t taken any action and their problems have worsened due to torrential rains. Warangal Rural district recorded 190cm of rainfall due to ‘incessant cloudbursts’. Recently in Gujarat, a 60-feet-long bridge collapsed due to which 4 people sustained injuries while in Telangana, an under-construction bridge collapsed in Vemulawada due to heavy rainfall in the region.
