16-year-old Aafreen Shaikh from Gujarat’s Ahmeda scored 98.31 percentile in her class 10th Gujarat Board exams this year.
Aafreen’s father drives an auto-rickshaw to feed his family. Shaikh Mohammad Hamza has no other source of income. But despite financial constraints, Shaikh never compromised on the education of his kids. And it was Shaikh’s this belief which finally brought laurels to the entire family.
According to Shaikh, he wants his kids to be independent.
Aafreen’s score was a fraction short of the exam’s topper who scored 99 percent. Now, Aafreen wants to become a doctor and serve the nation. For which, her father has already started making arrangements.
