Sex is a beautiful experience. If done with the right person in the right ambiance (ehmm), it can be one of the most pleasurable and fun experiences of your life. Having said that it’s important to note that sex– anal, vaginal or oral– involves the genitals touching, which is usually good. However, it rare cases, it can cause a great deal of trouble and lead to you contracting sexually transmitted diseases or STDs.
For those of you, who are new to the territory, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are infectious diseases that you can get if you come in contact with a person who is already infected. STDs can cause serious problems. Apart from causing trouble down under, STDs can also cause infertility and cervical cancer (so you might wanna hire a private detective and get your partner’s history).
So, ladies, buckle up and check out the common symptoms that indicate that you might need help down under:
While our vajayjays keep giving us heart attacks time to time (remember the time before you’re about to have your periods?), but this is different. Green or yellow discharge vaginal discharge can indicate trichomoniasis or gonorrhea.
You pee when you drink coffee, you drink alcohol, you pee when you’re too cold (winks) and you even pee (in your pants) when you are scared (just kidding). But if peeing is becoming painful for you or if you are having a burning sensation while peeing, it means you can have trichomoniasis or genital herpes.
Itching down under
Ok, this can get a bit tricky. Itching can be perfectly normal but combined with other symptoms like abnormal vaginal discharge or genital warts, it can indicate an STD. It is consistent with gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, HPV, or hepatitis.
While a little pain is expected if you are having sex for the first time or if you are having sex after a long time, but if you are a series regular, persistent during sex can indicate chlamydia or trichomoniasis.
Before you jump to any conclusion, it’s common to bleed the first time. However, if it persists after a long time or if you are getting bleeding between periods, then you might have reason to worry about. Bleeding between periods can indicate chlamydia while bleeding with intercourse can indicate HPV.
While warts can be simple skin tags, however, genital warts couple with gray swelling in the genital area and discomfort and bleeding can indicate the presence of HPV.
Rashes and sores near your vajayjay or mouth mean trouble ladies. If you have weird acne in your mouth or down under, it can mean that you have genital herpes or syphilis.
In case you notice any of these symptoms, don’t ignore them and consult your doctor immediately!
