The poor old period has a bad reputation. As soon as they start, the annoying monthly chore too begins. No? It causes a complete internal massacre. But here’s the good thing- all the painful cramps and the mood swings are not for nothing. But believe it or not getting your period can be a good thing. In fact, it can be a great thing! And no we are not talking about the times some girls breathe a sigh of relief but because of other good stuff that also happens to our body (tears, pain, and blood aside). Here are five reasons that will make you hate that time of the month a little less.
This is the time when our estrogen level goes up. This is also the time to get that perfect glow on your skin. You can go lighter with moisturizer as our skin tends to moisturise itself.
The follicular phase is when women are low on energy but high on sex drive. You can’t deny that periods is the time that your mind wanders into wild imagination or when you want to be with your partner the most. Don’t worry it’s completely normal. Studies have shown that women tend to be more turned on while they are on their period. Plus, doing it during your periods also helps in easing cramps and killing mood swings (it’s a good idea unless you are too attached to your bed sheet).
It slows down the aging process
According to experts, the reason why women live longer than men could be because they lose iron every month. Iron plays an important role in the production of free radicals which increase the chances of getting age related diseases.
You can attain your zen mode
The ovulation phase is the time when our energy level is really low and you don’t feel like doing much physical work, you may yearn for a heart-to-heart conversation with your partner or a good friend. It is the best time to meditate and attain your zen.
It helps to loose weight…faster
Women tend to shed kgs faster while they are on their period. You can switch between dieting and exercise. Kind of difficult when you have hunger pangs even if you just ate and you just want to lay in bed all day and all night. Make sure you also get sufficient sleep for better results.
