Remember when JK Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter’ chair was up for auction and sold for a whopping $394,000? Well, Hollywood isn’t the only film fraternity that is minting exorbitant amounts off of its memorabilia! When it comes to auctioning iconic items, Bollywood isn’t that far behind!

The Indian film industry is more than a 100 years old and has carved quite a legacy for itself over the years. The audience has seen some pretty iconic costumes and props being used in Bollywood movies which go on to become pop culture figures. Madhuri Dixit’s iconic yellow sari which she wore in the number ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’ in the film Beta was sold off for Rs. 80,000 in an auction by a film magazine. Crazy, right?

Shammi Kapoor’s jacket

Nobody can forget ‘Yahooo… Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe’ and Aamir Khan, being a true Shammi Kapoor fan, bought the jacket donned by Shammi Kapoor in this song at an auction for Rs 88,000. All in well alright!

Salman Khan’s towel in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

Salman’s ‘Jeene ke hain chaar din‘ step was as iconic as his towel and it apparently got sold for Rs 1,42,000 at an online auction! How crazy is that?

Aamir Khan’s bat from Lagaan

Aamir Khan gave us goosebumps with his acting in Lagaan, but it’s the exorbitant amount that his bat fetched at an auction that left us speechless. It was sold for approximately Rs 1,56,000 in an auction!

Priyanka Chopra’s Christian Louboutin shoes

For ‘Save The Girl Campaign’ organised by UNICEF, Priyanka Chopra put her hot pink Christian Louboutin heels up for auction. The pink heels managed to auction for somewhere around Rs 2,50,000. All for a good cause!

Kishore Kumar’s unreleased song

At the first Osian’s Cinefan Auction of Indian Film Memorabilia, the auction house sold off Kishore Kumar’s unreleased song (titled ‘Tum hi to ho‘) which he recorded a few days before his death. The song was sold for Rs 15.6 lakh by a fan who has the privilege of listening to an unreleased Kishore Da song which the world hasn’t heard!

Madhuri Dixit’s Lehenga

Madhuri Dixit’s gorgeous lehenga in “Maar Dala” gave everybody major fashion goals as it was truly stunning and has a lot of copies in the market.  However, there was one fan who wasn’t happy with doppelgangers and wanted the real deal.  So much so that when the lehenga was auctioned, he bought it for a staggering Rs. 3 Crore.
