According to an India.com report, an official said, “We plan to reconstruct the entire stages of Krishna’s life. There will be a jail where Devki and Vasudev were imprisoned. The project officers have also been asked to create an artificial river like Yamuna that is linked to several aspects of Krishna’s life. Krishna Land is one of the number of projects the Yogi Adityanath government proposed to make the state a religious tourism centre that will be funded by World Bank.”

“We may contact the Disneyland creators for help, if needed, and also those developed the famous Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad. We will offer family packages like the Ramoji City, where the tourists can stay in the Krishna Land and experience the lifestyle without compromising on comfort and security,” the official added, according to a Deccan Chronicle report.

The decision for building Krishna Land came as for the Uttar Pradesh government, Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world does not represent Indian Culture. For them, this UNESCO World Heritage Site isn’t Indian enough and hence they are okay with adopting something foreign to attract tourists.

The Yogi Adityanath government even didn’t include Taj Mahal in the recently announced Uttar Pradesh Budget. The government also recently decided to replace the Taj replica which was gifted to foreign dignitaries with a copy of the Gita.
