Saree makers in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara are making news thanks to their latest range of sarees which are being made in honour of the Indian armed forces. In the aftermath of the recent air strikes at Balakot, shops are selling sarees with prints of the Indian defence forces as well as of IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. Mill owners in Gujarat’s Surat have come up with a similar initiative. They are manufacturing sarees with patriotic messages and images. The manufacturers say it’s a patriotic gesture to show their respect to the armed forces.
