While Pranab Da Is At Nagpur, Congress On Twitter Tells Us Why RSS Is 'Anti-Development' In This Video

The party clearly isn't happy about him speaking at an RSS event.

Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh’s (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur on Thursday hosted what one may call ‘the most unusual visitor’. Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India and the senior most leader of Congress, is all set to address RSS workers, in a move that has taken the entire political class of the country by surprise.

Needless to say, Mukherjee’s decision to attend and address an event hosted by the RSS has shocked Congress the most. While the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel and Sharmishta Mukherjee (his daughter) have questioned the move, many such as P Chidambaram and Salman Khurshid have felt that there is nothing wrong in speaking at an RSS event.

However, amid all the debate, Congress on Twitter took a jibe at RSS with an explainer video, ‘RSS for dummies’ which mentioned what RSS stands for as per the Congress. The video criticises RSS for its zero or negligible contribution in the Indian freedom movement and calls it ‘anti-development’, among other things.

Here’s the video

But the tweet sparked anti-Congress responses and many shared pictures of Congress leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi attending RSS events.
