TN Boy Who Blamed Drunkard Father For His Suicide, Scored 85% In Class 12 Exam

The teenager ended his life by hanging himself at a railway bridge on a state highway at Vannarpettai

17-year-old Dinesh from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli, who committed suicide on May 2 blaming his father’s alcoholism, has passed his class 12 examinations with 85% marks.

The medical aspirant, who was expected to appear for the NEET exam on May 6, secured a total of 1024 marks out of 1200, The News Minute reported.

The teenager ended his life by hanging himself at a railway bridge on a state highway at Vannarpettai. In his suicide note, Dinesh wrote about the harassment he had suffered at the hands of his alcoholic father and urged him to quit drinking at least after his death.

“Appa (dad).. please stop drinking at least after my death… Since you are still taking alcohol, you please don’t perform final rites to me. Only then my soul will rest in peace.”

Dinesh lost his mother nine years ago, his father Madasamy, however, married again. Neglected by his father and his newly wedded wife, Dinesh took the support of his Madurai-based uncle Sankara Kutralam alias Mani to continue his education, The Hindu reported.

After his 12th exam, Dinesh visited his father’s home but soon left the place since conditions in his house were not welcoming. He moved to Chennai and started working at a tea shop. However, he returned home after some of the relatives assured him that they would support him. But Madasamy continued harassing him and one day took the money he had earned from the tea shop job in Chennai. This apparently acted as a trigger driving the teenager to take the extreme step.
