Thousands March to India Gate Against Kathua And Unnao Rape Incidents

The candle light vigil was called by Congress president Rahul Gandhi who asked people to join him to awaken Modi government from its slumber

Thousands flocked to India Gate Thursday midnight to demand justice for the Kathua and Unnao rape victims. The midnight march comes amid nationwide horror over the chilling details of the brutal gangrape of an 8-year-old being revealed in a chargesheet filed by Jammu and Kashmir police.

The candle light vigil was called by Congress president Rahul Gandhi who asked people to join him to awaken Modi government from its slumber. The protest was a sharp reminder of protests that had been held here after the brutal gang-rape of paramedical student Nirbhaya in 2012.

However, the event also saw huge participation of people who do not belong to any party but wanted to express their angst against the current state of affairs.
