This Karnataka Teacher Lost His Job For Comparing Politicians To Earthworms

A Karnataka teacher took ‘political gimmickry’ to a whole new level while preparing question paper for annual examination of class 8 students.

The question, that appears to take a dig at the Karnataka politicians, asked if a farmer’s friend was an earthworm or Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy or BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa. The question was asked at Bengaluru’s Mount Carmel English High School in the Kannada language exam. The teacher was sacked as soon as the images of the question paper went viral on social media platforms. The faculty member responsible for setting the question paper was dismissed from the post,” Raghavendra, the principal of the school in the city’s southwestern suburbs, told the media. It was included in the examination without the knowledge of the administration, he added.

Interestingly,  the BJP state unit President Yeddyurappa calls himself a “raitha bandhu” (farmers’ friend), while HD Kumaraswamy has often referred to himself as the farmers’ leader, as a means of wooing the state’s farming community.

The question has the social media in splits
