This 'Crying Club' In Gujarat Celebrated New Year In The Most Unique Way

It was the first such initiative in India.

We all know about group laughter therapy sessions which focus on easing an individual’s tension and stress. But have you ever heard of a ‘crying session’? Well, that’s what a group of people in Gujarat just came up with. A group of residents in Surat organised a session where people came together to cry their hearts out ahead of the New Year’s eve.  The unique event was organised by ‘Healthy Crying Club’, a first-of-its-kind in India.

Interestingly, Rui Katsu meaning ‘tear seeking’ is a cultural phenomenon in Japan which originated in the year 2013.  People come together to watch sad films or listen to sad music so as to cry which helps them release stress and tension.
