The Railways' Stunning Makeover Of Stations In Prayagraj

The transformation is sure to delight the travellers

Indian Railways has given a stunning makeover to all railway stations of Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad) ahead of next year’s Ardh Kumbh Mela. The walls of the stations are decked with beautiful murals and paintings of famous artists, to classical dance forms depicting the rich cultural heritage of India.

The transformation is sure to delight travellers. Several railway stations have been revamped under Indian Railways’ beautification plan.

Jhunsi railway station which is the nearest railway station to Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj is being revamped as well. The walls are repainted with beautiful cultural paintings and murals. Ministry of Railways tweeted about the beautification drive, saying: “Indian Railways is working towards beautification of all Railway Stations. Here are few glimpses of beautiful Paintings at Jhunsi, a Kumbh Mela area station of Prayagraj.”

Beautification of trains and railway stations has been a major part of the drive. Over the past couple of months, several railway stations have been revamped with beautiful wall painting and murals. In a pan-India contest held for the beautification work, two railway stations, Balharshah and Chandrapur, won the top spot, while Madurai and Madhubani stations came second.
