Sheena Bora murder case: Mikhail Bora says 'there should be no hurry in the investigation'

Sheena Bora murder case sees a new light as special CBI court in Mumbai frames charges against Indrani Mukherjea, Peter Mukherjea and Sanjeev Khanna

In a new development in the sensational murder case of Sheena Bora case,  the special CBI court in Mumbai framed murder charges against the prime accused Indrani Mukherjea, her husband Peter Mukherjea, and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna on January 17.

CBI argued that Indrani Mukerjea killed Sheena Bora, her daughter from a previous relationship, with the assistance of her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai, over a property dispute. CBI further claimed that Indrani’s husband Peter Mukherjea was also aware of this conspiracy.

A detailed report submitted in the court informed that media tycoon, Peter Mukherjea was the prime accused in the case. He was aware of her wife’s plot to kill Sheena and yet maintained his silence.

In an exclusive interview with InUth, Sheena’s brother Mikhail Bora said that “he is happy with the decision” and hopes that “there is no hurry in the investigation”. He thanked the CBI and hopes justice is served to her sister.

Trouble between Indrani and Sheena brewed when Rahul Mukherjea, Peter’s son from an earlier marriage entered into a relationship with Sheena, against both Peter and Indrani’s consent. Sheena, 24 was strangled in Indrani’s car in Mumbai in April 2012 by Indrani, Sanjeev and Shyamvar Rai who then burned and dumped the body in a forest nearby in Raigad district. After the CBI charged Indrani with murder, she told the court that she would like to divorce Peter Mukherjea and asked permission to file a case.

Two charge sheets have been filed in this case so far. And the trial will begin on February 1.

Indrani, Khanna, and Rai were arrested after Rai spilled the beans when he was arrested and interrogated for a different case relating to the possession of illegal arms.

The second charge sheet was filed on 16 February 2016 against Peter Mukherjea for his alleged role in the murder plot and he was arrested on 19 November.
