In a shocking turn of events, ahead of a meeting to pick late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa’s successor, suspended AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa’s lawyer was allegedly attacked outside the party office by AIADMK workers on December 28.
It was learned that four lawyers from Sasikala Pushpa’s team had reached the party office to submit a letter where they were attacked by AIADMK workers and created an ugly scene.
The entire episode is being considered a war over the post of the general secretary of the party. However, the police has reached the spot to take over the situation and stop the clashes.

On the other hand, Pusha named this entire action against her lawyers a ‘foulplay’ and called the attacks as highly condemnable.
Few days back, the Madras HC held a plea by Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa seeking to restrain AIADMK from appointing late chief minister Jayalalithaa’s aide V K Sasikala as the party General Secretary.
Pushpa in her suit has submitted that the primary eligibility to contest the election to the post of General Secretary was that the contestant must have been a primary member of the party continuously for five years as per the AIADMK bye-laws and Sasikala did not fulfil this norm.
