Frontrunner for UP CM Keshav Prasad Maurya hospitalised, shifted to ICU

Keshav Prasad Maurya is considered as one of the front-runners for the chief ministerial post in the Uttar Pradesh

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya on March 16 admitted to ICU ward of Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital in New Delhi. The reason is unknown yet. Maurya, who belongs to the Most Backward Caste, led the party from the front in the 2017 assembly polls which BJP won with a clear majority.

He is considered as one of the front-runners for the chief ministerial post in the Uttar Pradesh.

BJP registered historic victory in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls after claiming 312 seats out of 403 seats. With this win the saffron party is set to form the government in the state after the dry run of about 15 long years.
