Oprah Winfrey raises battle cry at the 75th Golden Globe Awards

At a time of #MeToo and #TimesUp campaigns, the actors chose to acknowledge the exposed misogyny of the entertainment industry

At this year’s Golden Globes, Oprah Winfrey’s speech was one of the most resonating points of the entire event, as she became the first black woman to accept the Cecil B. DeMille award.

Walking on-stage to a thunderous applause, Winfrey spoke about her childhood, the honour of being the first black woman to receive the award and the bravery of all the woman who spoke out against sexual harassment.
