Kerala is slowly returning to normalcy after being hit by devastating floods that left over 300 people dead. People who had taken shelter at relief camps are now returning to their homes only to find them invaded by reptiles.
Many flood-hit houses have been infested by snakes and insects. There were several incidents of snake bite that were also reported from various districts. In Thrissur’s Chalakudy, a crocodile was spotted inside a home. It was later caught and tied with a rope
The government says it’s taking all the requisite measures to tackle the threat of reptiles. Snake catchers have been deployed. The administration is also ensuring that anti-venom drugs are made available at the affected areas.
