Jammu: 2 civilians killed, 3 injured as Pakistan continues with unprovoked shelling along LOC

Pakistan initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 0715 hours along the LoC in Naushera sector

Two civilians have been killed as Pakistan Army continued its unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir on May 13, to which the Indian troops are giving a befitting reply. While three civilians have been injured and rushed for immediate treatment.

“Pakistani Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 0715 hours along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera sector,” said an official statement.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army posts are retaliating strongly and effectively and the firing is presently on.

Shahid Choudhary, DC Rajouri, has ordered that all schools in Nowshera, Qila Darhal and Manjakote along LoC will remain closed for an indefinite period.

On Thursday, two Pakistan Army soldiers were injured in retaliatory firing from the Indian side post a ceasefire violation in the Nowshera sector.

A woman was killed and her husband was injured in the ceasefire violation. Pakistani troops reportedly fired 120 mm mortars early in the morning in the area.
