TikTok had to deal with its share of bad press in the last few months. The Chinese-owned mobile app was prohibited from download for a short period by the Madras High Court over its alleged inappropriate content but it was lifted on certain conditions. The mobile app may have been under scanner for its controversial content but it has certainly helped a woman find her husband who had abandoned her three years ago. Suresh, a native of Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district, was married to Jayapradha and had two children. In 2016, he left their house and did not return. After making fervent attempts to trace him, she reported the matter to police and filed a missing person’s complaint but there was no developments in the case, The New Indian Express reported
A few weeks back, one of Jayapradha’s kins happened to watch a video on TikTok, in which she found someone looking very similar to Suresh along with a friend. She showed the video to Jayapradha who confirmed it was her husband only and alerted the police officials, who then traced Suresh to Hosur where he was working as a mechanic in a tractor company.
Suresh, police say, had left home as he was not happy with certain developments in his family. The police counselled the couple and have sent them home.
We asked him whether he wanted to go back to his wife and kids. He agreed. Therefore, we sent the couple back,” the policeman told The News Minute
