How This Initiative Is Changing Lives Of Children Who Don't Go To Schools

An NGO in collaboration with a Delhi University college is running a creche for children of migrant labourers.

For children who don’t have access to formal schooling, this creche is a ticket to a brighter future. Situated in the dusty Narela region of outer Delhi, this creche is run in a room adjacent to a large construction site. There are around 40 kids who are children of migrant labourers. The initiative, Aangan is run by Enactus Hansraj, which is a collaboration between Enactus, an international NGO and Delhi University’s Hansraj College. In this initiative, kids are provided elementary education for a very nominal cost. Aangan also provides entrepreneurship opportunities for its teachers. The idea behind this initiative is to ensure that the children don’t lose out on life’s opportunities because access to education is every child’s basic right.
