Bandicoot: A Four-Legged Robot To The Rescue Of Manual Scavengers

A group of engineers at Genrobotics created ‘Bandicoot’, a human controlled robot, that can clean clogged manholes more efficiently than humans.

A Kerala based start-up has come up with a unique innovation that can put an end to the practise of manual scavenging once and for all. A group of engineers at Genrobotics created ‘Bandicoot’, a human controlled robot, that can clean clogged manholes more efficiently and effectively than humans. Armed with four limbs and a bucket system, it can be lowered into manholes, shovel garbage and sewage, and clear blockages.Kerala Chief Minister recently announced that his government will gradually deploy the machine across the state.
