And Here Are The Best Memes As The Petrol And Diesel Prices Soar 'Unchecked'

With no respite in the offing, Twitter made no bones about its anger over the 'uncontrolled' spike in fuel prices.

The prices of petrol and diesel continue to rise unabated for eight consecutive days much to the frustration of common man.The spike in the fuel prices comes after a 19 day freeze on oil prices(April 24-May 13) in the run-up to the Karnataka assembly elections.

While fuel prices hit a record high Rs 76.57 per litre (petrol) and Rs 67.82 per litre (Diesel), it was Mumbai that witnessed the highest ever petrol price of Rs 84.40 a litre. Petrol breached the Rs 80 mark in other cities including Hyderabad (Rs 81.11), Bhopal (Rs 82.12) and Patna (Rs 82.05 per litre). In the coming days, it’s unlikely that fuel prices will come down, thanks to the rising crude prices and a depreciating rupee.
