During heightened tensions in 1990, Roshan Lal Mawa, a Kashmiri Pandit left Srinagar and moved to Delhi for safety. But now, after almost three decades, he has returned home to start his business in Srinagar’s Downtown. The septuagenarian opened his shop in the Zaina Kadal market area. He was given a rousing welcome by locals as well as fellow traders. Mawa, now 74, had fled Kashmir in 1990, after he was attacked by a youth who shot him four times. He survived but always desired to go back to Kashmir. Mawa says his dream has now been fulfilled.
