Rekha has been one of Bollywood’s most enigmatic personalities, and time seems to have stood still for her. Even though she took to the stage to perform Salaam-E-Ishq song after nearly four decades, she seemed just as much at ease.
It reminded many of the original song from Prakash Mehra’s Muqaddar Ka Sikandar – where she performed the song alongside a very drunk Amitabh Bachchan. Rekha’s performance also made the audience reminisce about her most famous character in Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan.
On the IIFA stage (that is taking place in Bangkok), Rekha was joined by today’s superstars – Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor among others. And they all matched the iconic steps of the song, with Ranbir capping things off in the most adorable way. And the diva just basked in the applause of an audience, that stood there mesemerised by her grace.
