Watch: Sonam, Alia, Anushka, Vidya and Radhika are discussing molestation, morality and reality

It's good to see actresses being vocal about their personal experiences in the media. Hear Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma.

Rajeev Masand is gearing up for yet another Round Table Conference with actresses. The promo of this year’s conference with 2016’s top actresses is out and it features Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and Radhika Apte. The actresses can be seen discussing their experiences of gender discrimination. In fact, Sonam Kapoor is seen revealing that she was molested at a young age and it was “traumatising”. Vidya Balan responds to this startling revelation and replied that “it’s not her fault.”

Even Anushka Sharma will be seen recalling how her mother used to always ask her whether she has been touched by anybody inappropriately and she felt awkward answering the question time and again.

Radhika Apte, who stole our hearts with her brilliant performance in Ajay Devgn’s Parched, adds that she has started questioning the “idea of morality.” And Alia Bhatt, who is currently bathing in the success of in Dear Zindagi, says “we really do live in a bubble. Our reality is not a reality.”

The actresses will be seen discussing issues like gender discrimination, pay disparity, sexual harassment, sexism and feminism to name a few. Interestingly, the characters that these actresses have played in their films this year reflect the shades of fearless women. Whether it’s Alia in Udta Punjab, Kaira in Dear Zindagi, Anushka in Sultan, Radhika in Lajjo, Vidya’s Durga Rani Singh in Kahaani 2 or Sonam’s powerful portrayal of braveheart Neerja, all have depicted strong women on screen.
