Watch: Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut's new song from Rangoon grows on you. Is this Vishal Bhardwaj's best love song till date?

Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut deliver one of their boldest performances in Ye Ishq Hai from Rangoon. Will this song run into trouble with censor board?

It’s all love and steaming chemistry in the new song of Rangoon, Ye Ishq Hai. Penned down by  Gulzar, crooned by Arijit Singh and having the aesthetic appeal of Vishal Bhardwaj’s music, it wouldn’t be a wrong prophecy if the song becomes a hit. Filmed on the principal actors, Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan, the song grows on you. But it is Shahid and Kangana’s bold scenes that grab the attention.

The song captures the love-triangle of the film, that has been talked about a lot. It shows how Saif is helplessly in love with Kangana but can’t stop the budding romance between her and Shahid.

As far as Shahid and Kangana are concerned, they steal the show with their sizzling acts. They picture a love that one wants to stay away from but are drawn to it. The kind of love that slowly and steadily gets into your life and then becomes your universe. Shot in picturesque locations of North-East India, Ye Ishq Hai offers a complete package.

Having no dearth of lip locks and lovemaking scenes, the director filmed it like he doesn’t give a damn about what the Central  Board of Film Certification would think of it.

Also, it is understandable if you think that the song has a similar feel as Pehli Baar Mohabbat’s  slow version from Kaminey. But despite the similarities, this song reeks of a magic that only Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj would have created.

The movie is set in a pre-independence era with Shahid playing a solider, Kangana an actress and Saif essays the role of a filmmaker. Rangoon is being projected as Bollywood’s version of Holywood classic Casablanca. The movie will release on 24 February.
