Watch: Jack Sparrow returns in the new Pirates of the Caribbean 5 trailer

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is slated to be released on May 26 this year.

After six years of the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fifth instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series dropped its trailer. The trailer, which was released during the Super Bowl, followed after the movie’s official trailer where we didn’t get to lay our eyes on Jack Sparrow.

The new trailer of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (also The Revenge of Salazar and Salazar’s Revenge in some countries) gives goosebumps as scenes of dead men walking on water and seas parting in the middle screen as ‘Ain’t No Grave’ by Johnny Cash comes on. Finally, we get to see Johnny Depp portray the pirate that we all seem to love, Jack Sparrow. The trailer makes us wait right till the end to reveal him. It’s not until a mud-laden Sparrow utters two words, “Pirate’s life,” that we realise how much we have missed this man.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales

Jack Sparrow appears in the end of the trailer after a complete absence from the first trailer.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 has been directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and will centre around Capitán Salazar’s pursual of Jack Sparrow. Salazar is an old rival of Sparrow. No surprises there since Sparrow is known to be quite the expert at making foes. Salazar leads a crew of undead pirates out of the Devil’s Triangle and aims to slay every other pirate. Sadly, our Jack is pretty popular in the seas. He is on a chase of his own and he sets out to find an ancient artefact called the Trident of Poseidon which will make him the master of the seas.
