Okay, we are all hyped about the epic end to the Avengers journey that has been built up over a decade now. We would all love to watch the first day, first show of Avengers: Endgame. We might even consider ourselves a step ahead of regular fans. We are stans, we may think. But how far are we willing to go to prove our cray-cray stan status? Some are apparently willing to shell out more than Rs 10 lakh for premiere tickets! That’s more than what most of us earn in a year, btw. So let that sink in for a bit.
But that’s what’s been happening. American theater chains like AMC and Alamo Drafthouse revealed that their websites crashed after the pre-sale of the Endgame tickets went live due to crazy high demand. Some fans realised the potential in exploiting this situation, and decided to sell their premiere show tickets on ebay and believe it or not, two people actually shelled out $15,000 (approx Rs.10,37,512) for shows with a dine-in experience at a theatre in New Jersey!
If you think that’s too steep, then worry not. Some are even kind enough to resell their tickets for $900. That’s about Rs 62,284 only.
If your eyes are stuck behind your head by now from rolling them too fast, too suddenly, then know that you aren’t the only fan who thinks this is a tad absurd.
