#ShortWatch: 'Shuruaat' Has A Solution To Ease Your Existential Crisis

Six Sigma Films, known for creating path-breaking and diverse short films with independent filmmakers, is back with another movie that will touch your heart.

Shuruaat talks about the meaning of life and how important it is to have a purpose, a goal. It narrates the story of a young theater artiste who lives with his uncle’s friend, 65-year-old Keshav. Keshav was a theater artiste who has been waiting for the verdict of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, in which he lost his wife and son. The story takes us through the journey of their bonding- how two completely differently people help uplift each other and  how the young lad helps the old man to find his purpose in life. The ending is pretty heart-warming and will leave you wanting to know what happens next in Keshav’s life.

This critically acclaimed short movie is directed by Suresh Shelar who has made many beautiful short films on complex subjects like same-sex relationships, the struggles of a first-time actor, and the intricate layers pf a matrimonial relationship. Shuruaat went on to win the best short film award at IIFFSA, South Africa in 2014. It was also screened at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
